Day before Fall.

Image
Let's talk about the ones that have done this before me. I didn't know there was a subculture to this home haunting thing. I had no clue that people made more than just the generic items you could buy at the stores during the Halloween season. What a treat! I'm glad that I saw that Johnny Appleseed scarecrow by Pumpkinrot back in July. I'm glad I challenged myself to make something homemade and not just out of the box. Then I started seeing how much He has influenced so many haunters.  As the nights get closer to October 31st, I'm starting to get nervous with what I have made and the full picture I see in my head. Usually by this time in past years I have my store-bought decorations out and calling it good. Yet already way into September I'm still building away in my garage. This has been a blast; I can't state that enough! I hope to make the Spirits proud with my offering this year. I hope the kids and parents that come by on Halloween enjoy what they see...

From start to finish. This has to be one of my favorite things I've ever created. This one just came out better than I could have imagined. I cannot wait to place this outside in a few days. Honestly, if I wasn't afraid the elements would destroy everything, I would have set the entire Haunt up already. I'm excited for Halloween this year. I feel like a kid at Christmas, and I feel like a lot of eyes are on me this year as well.  I will start posting on here and on Instagram now more and more.

If you have Ghost's

Well, I got off work this morning and came straight home to the garage. I had been wanting to make one of the scarecrows into a ghost, but I felt like I was running into a brick wall. I guess I was just overthinking the design because as soon as I got in the garage, I had the damn thing done within a few minutes. I think it came out better than what I envisioned in my head and I'm glad it did. I plan on making a run to Lowes and Home Depot tomorrow to look for the stakes I'll be using to secure everything. I'm also going to be looking for some cedar garden fencing to place around the yard to hopefully deter kids from running through the yard this year.      This summer heat is ridiculous, and I cannot wait for fall to arrive. Today went by too fast, as well as this month. Time goes faster the older we get it seems. I used to believe I had all the time in the world.     Anyways, here is a picture of the ghost and the other scarecrows that I ca...

let's get past summer

Wow, I've skipped a few days. Like I said I'm new to this format. I just finished a summer semester of college. I went back to school to finish getting my associates, mainly because I will need it to promote at the job I'm at. New semester starts in about a week. All the kids are back in school, and I really haven't had time to enjoy the peace and quiet of them being out of the house during the day. I have taken many pictures that I want to share but I'm also realizing lately that my cloud isn't synced to my phone for some odd reason.     I've been keeping busy in the garage by working on new props for Halloween this year. This will be the first year that I will be making the majority of the props all by myself and I have to say that it has been really enjoyable. I think this year will be the most expensive since I have no clue what all the materials were that I was going to need, but next year I shouldn't need to buy that many tools or equipment. O...

GHOSTZRO Haunts first post

Image
I am new to this format. I don't know anyone will ever find this and read or find it interesting. I'm a lover of the dark and spooky, always have been. This is my start of documenting the things I make and find interesting.  I have recently discovered Pumkinrot and his amazing sculptures that should be in museums for sure. This year for Halloween I will be displaying 3 scarecrows all handmade with his inspiration behind them. I will share pictures of the first one I made, and of the second one I started as of this evening. For this first post I will keep it short and sweet since I'm figuring all this out. Until next time. Be well.
